Stanley M. Gully

Professor Human Resource Management


Bio:

(Ph.D., Michigan State University, industrial/organizational psychology) is interested in leadership and team effectiveness, training, and organizational learning. He has authored or presented over 70 papers, research articles, and book chapters. His publications have appeared in Research in Personnel and Human Resources Management, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Research Methods, Advances in Interdisciplinary Studies of Work Teams, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. His co-authored paper on goal orientation and training was the recipient of a Research Award from the American Society for Training and Development. Stan currently serves on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Applied Psychology and Journal of Organizational Behavior. He was the winner of a 2001 Reviewer Award from the Journal of Management and he is a co-editor of the Academy of Management Research Methods Division Newsletter. His applied work includes, but is not limited to, management at United Parcel Service, design of a training program for increasing employee safety, development of guidelines for training leaders of interdependent work teams, evaluation of recruiting source effectiveness, and implementation of a multi-source feedback system.
